how the book club works!!!

No small talk here; we’re jumping straight into things :) First things first: Wrapping up July — we’re almost at the end of our first month and we could not be happier. As I write this, we have around 4000 members across the social media board, and I am so excited to have you all here.

Now, I'm not going to lie - choosing that first book was a little intimidating. There’s nothing worse than giving a friend a book recommendation that you loved, and they come back saying they hated it. I don’t know maybe next time lie… and say you enjoyed it? Kidding. But, it’s safe to say that this book will forever have a special place in my heart and a lot of you seemed to feel the same way. It was nothing less than a love letter to romance readers in my books.

Second thing: How is all of this going to work? In an attempt to guess your incoming FAQs, I’ll leave some answers below :)

How do I actually join the club?

Subscribe to the substack! The club first launched on our Instagram and will still serve as the home base for the club's everyday social content, but the substack (newsletter + group chat) will carry the community and discussions.

What’s included in the newsletter?

The newsletter will surround the book club pick that month and some other bookish things. This can include: the reading schedule, book quotes + discussion + polls, upcoming events, spotify reading playlists, other book recs and more. The sky’s the limit with it right now!

How do the group chat/newsletter mesh with each other?

Seamlessly (at least, that’s the goal). The newsletter will be your one-stop for almost everything and will come out on the same day/time each week for a more structured aspect.

The group chat will be more laid-back and spur-of-the-moment! For August, we’re going to try something new—I will break up parts of the book into chapter sections, and you can pop in that thread depending on where you are in the book! This will be easier for those reading at different speeds or trying to avoid spoilers.

How often is the newsletter sent out?

Weekly! Don’t worry your inbox is safe from an endless stream of unsolicited emails.
